Zeitgeist and Utopia

Zeitgeist is the intellectual fashion or dominant school of thought that typifies and influences the culture of a particular period in time. This relates to design when one thinks about how the artists of different periods were able to come up with their own styles that influenced the way design was approached and the manner in which the artists of that particular movement did their artwork, for example the Russian constructivists applied the belief that the function of an object should determine its form and ultimately its design.
Utopia is a community or society possessing highly desirable or perfect qualities. I found this description online and as compared to my understanding of the word utopia is; that it is an incredible and impenetrable moment or state of the human condition in which there is no impossibility or incapability of man.
The manner in which I went about searching for the content online was proof reading most sites that had something I felt had relevant information and that would inform me better about the term zeitgeist and how it could be applied to design. Idid have difficulty in reviewing the information as a good amount of the videos were for instance about how religion is fictional and that religion is a basis in which a group or society found a way to make themselves more prominent in society.
Due to the fact thatI had a theme to go with filtering out the information that was relevant for this task was not as difficult as I had direction and a focussed path.

Zeitgeist and utopia are ultimately states of thought and how individuals view the world and how they have spread their opinions through the world of art. Several artists have expressed their view of a utopia  as shown in the images above, zeitgeist as well has been represented and fashion designers feel that their medium to represent a thought and the idea behind it is one that should be viewed and understood.
